Soutěží komise EAA o víkendu jednala v Lausanne, v agendě byla podoba stávajících šampionátů i nové formáty soutěží.

Z programu "The European Athletics Event & Competition Commission", která zasedala pod vedením člena rady EAA Toralfa Nilssona od pátku 29. září do neděle 1. října na ředitelství EAA v Lausanne.

  • Diskuze nad prezentací a formátem DNA ("Dynamic New Athletics"), kterážto vize debutuje ne Evropských hrách 2019 v Minsku.
  • Debata o potenciálních nových soutěžích do kalendáře EAA: European Athletics Relay Festival (štafetový festival) a European Trail Running Championships (trail - běh v terénu).
  • Návrh změn formátu ME družstev od roku 2021, detailní analýza formátu HME v Glasgow 2019.
  • Po uvedení 50 km chůze žen narychlo do programu MS v Londýně 2017 se probíralo, jak disciplínu zařadit do evropských soutěží.

Příští jednání komise: 13. až 15. dubna 2018 v Lausanne.

The European Athletics Event & Competition Commission, with European Athletics Council Executive Board Member Toralf Nilsson as the chair, held its biannual meeting from Friday 29 September to Sunday 1 October at the European Athletics Head Office in Lausanne.
The diverse areas and topics covered included discussion about the presentation and format of DNA (Dynamic New Athletics), which will make its debut at the 2019 European Games in Minsk.
There was also considerable debate concerning two new competitions which could be potentially be introduced onto the European Athletics calendar: a European Athletics Relay Festival and a European Trail Running Championships.
Proposed format changes for the European Athletics Team Championships from 2021 were also explored and analysed while the competition format for the Glasgow 2019 European Athletics Indoor Championships was examined in detail.
After the introduction of the women’s 50km race walk into the IAAF World Championships London 2017 at relatively short notice, how to integrate this event into future European Athletics events was looked at.
The Commission – one of six European Athletics Commissions – will next meet in Lausanne from 13-15 April 2018.
